Bryce Island - Dead Island: Epidemic Preview

(Note: The game will be a bit prettier than it appears here. I have shadows turned off.)

Dead Island: Epidemic (or DI:E) is an action-MOBA and zombie-killing game developed by Stunlock Studios, published by Deep Silver, and currently in Closed Beta. It should be noted that the original Dead Island developers, Techland, stopped working on the series after Dead Island: Riptide. Stunlock Studios is the team responsible for Bloodline Champions. DI:E will be a very different game than what Dead Island fans will be used to and Stunlock's previous game never got too popular before fading into obscurity. Despite all this, DI:E is an interesting game and should attract a healthy amount of players.

There are currently two modes. Horde Mode for killing zombies and trying to clear a map with the best time, and Scavenger Mode for PvP. What sets DI:E apart is that Scavenger is played with three teams, 4 vs. 4 vs. 4. Each team attempts to capture flags and collect supplies while stopping the other two teams from completing the same objective. Of course, zombies attack you during all of this, and zombies are neutral. Basically, imagine playing Left 4 Dead but the other survivors are trying to kill you, too. That is Dead Island: Epidemic. But let's discuss the deeper details...

Fine Whirl - Prime World Review

(Note: The faction I joined was Dokht, the character I used was Duelist.)

Prime World is a hybrid MOBA/City-Building game created and hosted by Nival, currently in open beta and compatible with Facebook. It takes place in a broken world at war with two factions fighting for control over a magical, water-like power source called "Prime". You join either the Dokht Imperium or the Kingdom of Adornia to participate in the endless fight against the other side. You aren't fighting the fight yourself, of course. You enlist the help of special, Prime-powered heroes as a wealthy castle lord that puts them to work.

The heroes may be rich, but I'm the guy that signs their checks.
If you had any doubts about Prime World because it's a MOBA, then don't worry. It's pretty casual. There isn't a lot to take in starting off and the learning curve is very comfortable. If you have ever played a MOBA, such as League of Legends or DotA 2, then this game will seem very easy to you. That said, it can get really addictive for what it does differently from other games. Let's see what those are...

Super Monkey Knight Comrade - Super Monday Night Combat Review

Super Monday Night Combat (SMNC) is both a third-person shooter and real-time strategy game created by Uber Entertainment (often shortened to Uberent), available through Steam. You take control of one of an assortment of "Pros" to participate in the famous bloodsport of the future, which airs every Monday Night, hence the title. As there is only one gameplay mode at present (Crossfire), the object of the game is to blow through the enemy's Pros, bots, and other hazards, to take down their "Money Ball" and win the match. This game is actually quite a treat to play, and one of few games where I get the feeling the developers had fun creating it. Of course, I must say why this game is so cool, so let's get into what this game does right and wrong...

Wrath of Zeroes - Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes Review

Wrath of Heroes is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game. You take control of a hero in a team of heroes, and you take on other heroes is a big battle arena. It's pretty straight forward. The characters of this game, among other things, are based off of Age of Reckoning, another Warhammer Online game based off the Warhammer Fantasy world. The game works with three teams instead of the usual two, with six players on each team. The game also features three modes: Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Point Capture. It is currently in Open Beta, so many features aren't implemented yet. So my review will be based off of what the game is like now...
